@VidyaKrishnan How many acres of green cover will be destroyed for this? Nature is god. Will God give clean air and water? Everything is business. Building temple is business. Why not build hospitals, public parks, libraries or just leave the green cover as it is. #temples

This is very common. There was(is) a famous hospital in the 1990s at Luz, Mylapore, Chennai. The Dr-Owner was politically connected. Was even extremely close to a former CM. I used to practice there in the evenings. His standard instructions to all medical personnel was to scare & admit all stomach pain cases( Acidity, Gastritis, Peptic Ulcer), as Acute Appendicitis. He wd then perform unnecessary Appendicectomy on all of them, & give them a bomb shell as Bill. He did not even hv an MS( Gen. Surgery) degree. This racket went on fr many yrs. Popular film stars, & most celebrities of Chennai got admitted in that hospital, because of its prime location. In those times, half the youth of posh Mylapore roamed around with absent appendix, courtesy this money- hungry scoundrel. Today he is dead, & there is a different ethical management.

@Nithin0dha @Nithin0dha As I travelled around India late last year till now, one thing I have noticed common: burning of garbage, dry leaves, etc. This is something that needs correction in country-scale.

Good air, clean water, and food are fundamental to a good life. In that sense, they should be treated as fundamental rights. But air quality has been steadily degrading, and it's not really part of the mainstream conversation. That needs to change. Right now, if you look at the site (link in comments), everything looks green. But as we get closer to the end of the year, things will start looking much worse. Solving air pollution is hard, but the first step is simple: people need to know what they're breathing. Right now, that's not possible. India does collect air quality data, but it's either locked away, too broad to tell you anything about your locality, or just not published at all. There's no single place a citizen can go to get a clear, neighbourhood-level picture. So we set out to fix that. Today, we're launching an open, pan-India air quality platform, built in partnership with leading organisations in the field. The goal: give citizens, schools, local governments, and communities direct access to the data that affects their daily lives. At @RainmatterOrg , we've been committed to keeping this conversation alive, and this platform is our attempt at making that happen. All the data on the site is free and open, so others can build on top of it.

@Cryptified_Soul I've been doing this since my school days. I just put the trash in my school bag. It's just a basic thing. I even kept my child's vomit or soiled diaper in a garbage bag until I found a dustbin. It's not that difficult. You will do it if you care for your surroundings.

How to keep a place clean? Carry 3-4 garbage bags with you for your own trash. Throw it in a dustbin nearby! It’s that simple!

In Chennai, if people put plastic bottles into one bin, a machine prints an eco friendly bag. I hope they won't throw that in the sea. Why can't we just throw Plastic into a Bin and not expect anything in return? 😭 #FI

Since an FIR has been filed against me, I want to ask the Health Minister a few questions. JP Nadda ji, why is FSSAI going after those who are raising questions instead of those accused of wrongdoing? In a Democracy, does an ordinary citizen not have the right to question alleged irregularities in public institutions? We exposed alleged corruption and irregularities in FSSAI’s recruitment process. Instead of investigating the matter, FIRs are being used against those speaking in the public interest. Is this accountability or an attempt to intimidate and silence dissent?
