@PenPlays_ I keep seeing people say that this is impossible to make with regular injection moulding like that's the greatest reason to have this weird little train exist. The dirty secret they don't want you thinking about is that multiple part toys exist. Lego has even made them before.

It’s cute. The “gift” concept inside the box is fun, and it’s a smart way to do tiny functions.
It’s also stupid-affordable for LEGO to make but I don’t think it’s much reason for more

The 3D printed train in the Winter Holiday Express Train works like this
The functionality you see here would be impossible without 3D printing
You can see that the piece has a different texture thanks to it being printed

The Winter Village Holiday Express Train is the first general release LEGO set to include a 3D printed piece! 3D printing allows the train to have small moving parts, as they can print it all at once, & intentionally loosen the moving parts for play

Annoying people are gonna tell you this is a good deal for 1000 dollars, despite the fact that it has stickers, missing prints on figures, and can't even be wall mounted. You WILL be wasting your money on this. You will NEVER EVER have affordable lego SW again.
Simply don't buy.
