Congratulations to Terrie Moore for being awarded the Daryl Thompson Lifetime Achievement Award at the Sport BC Athlete of the Year awards. Moore has dedicated more than five decades to advancing disability and para sport in BC, Canada and internationally. #SportBC58thAOY

Congrats to Grace Barlow for being named Official of the Year at Sport BC’s Athlete of the Year Awards. Barlow completed her tenth-year officiating in 2025. She was named BC Hockey’s 2022 Official of the Year with experience in the PWHL, USports and IIHF #SportBC58thAOY

Congratulations to Larissa Franklin for being the recipient of the Harry Jerome Comeback of the Year Award! She helped Canada win gold at the WBSC Pan Am Championship in 2025, after being diagnosed with lymphoma and going through chemotherapy early in the year #SportBC58thAOY

Congrats Sophie De Geode on being recognized as Sport BC’s Senior Female Athlete of the Year! Returning from ACL surgery, De Goede delivered a standout 2025 season by being named World Rugby Player of the Year at the Rugby World Cup #SportBC58thAOY

Northern Capitals alumnus Grace Barlow has been recognized as Sport BC’s 2026 Official of the Year! This year’s award is the latest accomplishment for Barlow, a current member of the PWHL’s officiating team. In March of 2025, she was named to the U SPORTS Hockey Championships as referee, and was also BC Hockey’s Official of the Year in 2022.
