Last year, 12 bronc riders in total made at least 40 rides of 85 points or more. Kade Bruno, who finished tied for third with 49 last year, was the first clear that mark in 2026. Sixty percent of his rides have been 85+. He has 42 already, seven more than any other bronc rider.

Ten-time World Champion Stetson Wright will miss time at a crucial part of the season after announcing on Instagram he had surgery for a torn meniscus and PCL in addition to a separated shoulder. Wright said the cause was a couple of bad get-offs and his buck-off on Championship Sunday in Calgary. Wright insisted he will "be back in a flash," but the timeframe of his return is unknown. At this time, he ranks No. 1 in the bronc riding and No. 3 in the bull riding. He is almost assuredly in the NFR in both events already, but every day that passes he can and will lose ground in his Gold Buckle races.

Bradlee Miller won The Calgary Stampede to get to No. 1 in the World once again. He was 92.5 points in the Short Go, and got a little revenge on the rodeo that sidelined him while on top of the mountain just one year ago.

There’s plenty of parity after the first weekend of PBR Teams competition. The Texas Rattlers are 2-0, the New York Mavericks are 0-2, and everyone else is 1-1. Full recap of Bulls and Beats from Fort Collins: uscowboy.com/eight-of-10-te…

Hayle Gibson-Stillwell shattered the arena record in Calgary in one of the most exciting barrel races you will ever watch. Kassie Mowry had just lowered the record to 16.68, and before this year, it was 16.74. Wow!

This will be an interesting bareback riding Shootout in Calgary. Luke Thrash or Roedy Farrell could get a career defining win and Jake Lees and Bradlee Miller are riding for No. 1 in the World in addition to the Stampede title.

Tristen Hutchings and Noah Lee put on an incredible show in Pool B of The Calgary Stampede. They entered as the Top 2 bull riders in the World and lived up to the billing. They traded round wins, rode bulls in every direction, and they were both a perfect 3-for-3 to win over $21,000. These are the types of performances that make sports special. The best in the world delivering on the biggest stage in a Mano y Mano battle. 🎥@PRCA_ProRodeo

On July 1, Cody Snow and Lane Mitchell were ranked No. 38 and No. 40 respectively. They are now ranked No. 15 and No. 19 thanks to a $30,192 Cowboy Christmas. With checks at five rodeos + a win in Mandan they both made in a week more than they had the entire rest of the year.

Denton Dunning/Ketch Kelton each moved up more than 20 spots in the World Standings over Cowboy Christmas and they did it without a win. The pair of young guns instead placed second at four rodeos in four day stretch to make $29,428, the second-most among team roping pairs.

Two weeks ago, Tristan Martin was No. 18 in the Steer Wrestling World Standings. That was before he was the winningest bulldogger over Cowboy Christmas. Martin won Livingston and cashed in at least $2,000 at four more rodeos. Since June 30, he has five times of 4.5 or faster.

Let's see what the tie-down has in store today. Yesterday, there were four runs of 7.5 or faster to close Pool B. That matches as many as there were as the first five rounds combined. Shad Mayfield, Kyan Wilhite, and Shane Hanchey all up in Pool C.

All eyes will be on defending champion Shad Mayfield in Pool C at The Calgary Stampede. If he can make more runs in the 6s, as he's been known to do here before, his quest to make the National Finals using the Summer Run alone gets a whole lot easier. Other athletes to keep an eye on include Kade Sonnier, Kassie Mowry, Tyler Waguespack, and Ryder Wright.

Kade Sonnier is up today in Pool C and could be awfully dangerous in Calgary after his Cowboy Christmas momentum. He was one of just three bareback riders to win more than $20,000 over the Fourth and since Reno, nine of his last 11 rides have been 85 points or better.

Tristan Mize quietly had one of the best months of any bull rider in the PRCA in June. He went 10-for-15 and averaged over 85 points on those rides and won three rodeos. That helped him earn $45,865 of the $100,613 he's made this year as the No. 8 bull rider in the PRCA.

What a Short Round it was Wednesday night at the Greeley Stampede! 🔴 Fifth-ranked bareback rider Keenan Hayes was 88 in his home state to rally for another Greeley Stampede title. They were 15.3 on 3 to win by 1.8 seconds. 🔴 Leon Fountain was 88.5 for second in the Short Round and first in the Average, he bested Lefty Holman and Damian Brennan, who finished 2.5 points behind him and No. 1 and No. 3 in the Short Go. 🔴 In tie-down roping, Second-ranked Resistol Rookie Brodey Clemens was 9.2 in the Finals to end up at 29.1 seconds on 3. He was one of three cowboys faster than 30 seconds on 3 along with Semaj Collins Jr. and Hunter Herrin. 🔴 Danielle Lowman set an arena record with a 1.6-second run to win with an astounding 3.5 seconds on 2. 🔴 Former college basketball player Raelin Jurgens took a big lead into the Finals and was 17.26 for third to cruise to the win by nearly three-tenths of a second. She was 51.93 seconds on 3 and placed in all three rounds. 🔴 Mecate Trammell delivered the first 90+ Point Ride of his career to win the Average with 173.5 points on 2.
