@Pro__Thought @FinancialReview Abolish the top two income tax brackets as well. No one should be paying the government more than 30%.

Anthony Albanese has flagged broader carve-outs for business from the CGT increase, with a twist. ebx.sh/C1P3NF

@MarkoMatvikov @wings50streams They seem completely out of touch with reality

The only thing more surprising than the stupidity of the changes are that the people behind them have been blindsided by the backlash.
This budget doesn't just expose their agenda to keep more people poor - it reveals how many more people understand economics better than they do.
Claire Lehmann@clairlemon
What's interesting about this backlash is that Albo & Chalmers do appear to be genuinely surprised by it. Which tells you that very few people in their circles come from private industry-- a massive self-sealing bubble. x.com/SkyNewsAust/st…

@Seeker17260 @theheraldsun This Budget does not give small business people a fair go
English

@Pro__Thought @theheraldsun Back from where? Back to the “fair go”? That’s definitely a labor philosophy

Comedian Dave “Hughesy” Hughes has traded jokes for raw fury, launching a blistering attack on broken tax promises, the Dan Andrews statue, and the state’s out-of-control firebombing crisis, saying “I just want someone in charge to do something”. > bit.ly/4utlZS3

@NBarkerHodgins @AusPoll6 Some people are misunderstanding the difference between disapproving and not approving
English

@Pro__Thought @AusPoll6 However the logic still doesn't carry across a 3 option poll to apply that as it's misleading to the unsure / undecided contingent

For so many families like Rosemary’s, the SEC wasn’t just a workplace - it was a family.
Jeff Kennett and the Liberals sold off the SEC, costing thousands of Victorians their jobs and breaking communities built around secure work.
Now, we’re rebuilding it by employing 2,000 apprentices and training the next generation of sparkies.

@australian @Leevirtue It is sickening. It affects every Australian

David Kelly built his cleaning business from the ground up. But 15 years and 40 employees later, a double tax hit from the Labor budget has threatened to leave his life’s work in tatters.

@ausstockchick He’s a stubborn prick. Just look at how long it took him to realise we needed a royal commission into antisemitism after the Bondi attack. Doesn’t read the room. Doesn’t care about his impact on people.

Albo is under so much pressure to reverse the proposed CGT changes.
But the government will introduce draft laws into parliament this week.

@JEChalmers Anyone that believes anything you guys say now is a sucker

@Junetta19819957 @AusPoll6 I didn't say they disapprove. I said that they don't approve. If they did approve, they would be in the approve category wouldn't they. And if they disapproved they would be in the disapprove category. It's 66% that don't approve.
English

@Pro__Thought @AusPoll6 No it doesn’t mean that, you do realise that the 37% unsure doesn’t necessarily mean they all disapprove 😂
English

@AshPolitik But an election won't be held today. It will be held after One Nation continues to grow in support.
English

If an election were held today, post-budget, Labor would win a majority government.

On 10 June, I’ll address the National Press Club on rebuilding trust in Australia.
Trust is built close to home: through charities, community groups, local fundraisers and the volunteers who show up.
It’s how we back the organisations that bring Australians together.
