@Spino_Rin The spinosaurids there too have that problem where their neck's curve in lateral pose isn't accounted for, which makes them too wide when scaled to the same length.

@Spino_Rin The Therizinosaurus there is too wide since I didn't account for the pose and its neck length, so it looks much more robust that other theropods at the same length.

@CX316 @dino_magenta @Plasmili0 It's always been semi-aquatic, the debate is more on if it was wading rivers more or if it was swimming and diving underwater more to hunt.

@knight_Steve_ Alioramins aren't particularly special in their "legginess", while nanos have extremely long hindlimbs even for a tyrannosaur, especially the metatarsals, which are almost 75% the length of their femurs!! Qianzhousaurus does seem to have a larger skull proportionally.

Something I've been wondering, does Qianzhousaurus/Alioramus and Nanotyrannus count as a case of convergent evolution? Both are relatively small, gracile, long legged Tyrannosaurs. I'm pretty sure the current studies do not consider the two groups to be that closely related

@croooozin Intel went from my least fav to one of my fav water starters since seeing it actually move in unite makes it way way better. There's some clips of it in the anime where it looks cool too.

It makes me happy seeing people hate on Inteleon and Quaquaval again cuz I still can’t over how chopped they are 💔 There are Pokemon that are a little ugly in an endearing way but nah these two just suck

@TomHoltzPaleo Wonder if the hepgensis species will get its own genus anytime soon, it seems to jump between being a Yangchuanosaurus species and a Sinraptor species in papers a bit.

EVERY CURRENT ART OF THIS ANIMAL IS WRONG!!! for this to have the normal tail its usually depicted with, it would need a string of like 150 caudal vertebrae, instead of the expected 30-40 it had big manual claws and a big bone support for a MEAN angry brow over the eye

@Antrodemus None of them, I'm referring to the opposite condition of robust MT3 with slender MT2 and MT4. Which is why it's called Antarctometatarsus. we see it in koleken, aucasaurus, kiyacursor, etc.

Abelisaurs might've been focusing more on accelaration than top speed with all that musculature(delcourt 2018), makes sense for short amsbuhes. Abelisauroids also have the antarctometatarsal condition, hopefully more research will shed some light what those were for.

Using this to bring up again: the idea of Carnotaurus being a cursorial/sprinting animal is based on a paper by Persons and Currie, but that paper's interpretation of its anatomy has fallen out of favor to some theropod workers. We don't really know if it was a sprinting animal.

@MiloGaillard3 Based on Close relatives, yeah that's unlikely. Nanotyrannids seem to probably have been the best at that.

@volkswaagen1 @legodinoenjoyer The legs are from a smaller and probably younger individual, so its not impossible for the Skull:Limb proportions to change as the animal grew. The crest though yeah I doubt they'd disappear

There's much more on these trackways the paper goes over and why the authors propose gregarious behavior for these trackways, so I recommend people give it a read.

There is one also an undescribed abelisaur, the author's estimate of ~5 meters for its length would make it a pretty good candidate for these tracks.
