@greekcitytimes Can't be a mockery since Greece or Greeks didn't exist before 1830s when Otto forced everyone to become Greeks.

@TheNameofWar Turks denying the allegations makes it even funnier. We all know these tribesmen still kill for less. I recently saw a video of the Turkish army executing Kurdish female fighters off of a cliff. You ain't beating no allegations anytime soon.

@SherlokShqipja @orthodox_33ad Then stop using words like mathematics, history, geography and many more. You're embarrassing yourself. Also Gardiki comes from the Vlach "Fort". Research first then talk.

@orthodox_33ad Oh the irony! A son of Gardikis (likely Alb origin) who refuses to participate in the defense of Alb civilians. This story keeps getting flaunted as some principled act but in its core it is a completely flawed logic and nothing to be proud of. Take this down, it's embarrassing.

Marinos Ritsoudis, the Greek 🇬🇷 officer who refused to take part in NATO operations against the Serbs in 1999. The Greek government at the time decided to send the destroyer “Themistoklis” to the Adriatic Sea, to join a fleet of NATO member states preparing to participate in a military operation against Yugoslavia. Lieutenant Commander Marinos Ritsoudis refused to follow the Greek warship, citing his principles: “As an Orthodox Christian, I cannot participate in an attack on a brotherly people.” It should be noted that this was preceded by the refusal of sailor Nikolaos Gardikis, who during the morning report on April 13, 1999, had stated: “I respectfully report that I refuse to participate in the crime!” Ritsoudis later said that no one on the ship wanted to carry out the order, but he was the only officer who reacted. Gardikis and another sailor cited health reasons and did not follow the ship to the Adriatic. As he stated, before making his decision, Ritsoudis visited the priest Georgios Metallinos for guidance. Metallinos stood by him as a witness during the trial that followed. That same afternoon, Lieutenant Commander Ritsoudis was taken to the Naval Court of Piraeus, where he was charged with disobedience of orders. In his testimony, he said among other things: “I had two paths to choose from. I chose the one that you have above you [pointing to the image of Christ above the bench], whom I also place above all, because the law of God is above everyone. It is each person’s conscience.”
