The Bednar trade is horrific on so many levels. They traded a shutdown reliever when they planned to compete this year. They knowingly acquired an MLB ready catcher when they KNEW they had Davis Bart and Endy already. AND Flores stinks. Just absolutely perplexing on all accounts

In hindsight, dealing off Hayes and bringing in Sisk have turned out to be great moves from Cherington, but the cloud that will hang over the 2025 deadline is the David Bednar trade. Unless Flores figures it out and contributes in the future, you’re looking at an abysmal move.
