if you've ever provided liquidity on Uniswap, you've dealt with impermanent loss; probably without a clean explanation of what it actually is. here's the real version: when you deposit into a liquidity pool, your position automatically rebalances as price moves. ETH goes 🔼 the pool sells your ETH and buys USDC. ETH goes 🔽 it buys more ETH with your USDC. you end up with less of whichever asset won. it's called "impermanent" because it reverses if price returns to your entry point. in practice, it usually doesn't. 💡 a Prodigy.Fi vault works differently. the outcome is locked at deposit; which asset, at what price level, before the vault ever opens. nothing rebalances against you. two ways to earn yield. one has a defined outcome. one doesn't.
