I’m launching my new blog, ‘Pauline Dogmatics.’ Watch for frequent chatty posts on how to read Paul properly, along with various acts of shameless self-promotion! DouglasCampbell.me/blog/welcome

We have until Oct. 16 to stop Texas from executing #RobertRoberson, an autistic father, on Texas' death row based on the discredited “Shaken Baby” syndrome: shorturl.at/tFIJ9. This is shameful. He didn't do anything. And pretty much everyone knows it. Just stop it.

What's on my mind today? A lot of things. But amongst the least troubling is that I've started posting my Romans translation on my website. It is supposed to be an especially contemporary, colloquial, take. If I'm missing the mark badly, do let me know. douglascampbell.me/blog

@LauraRbnsn The Road to Character clearly doesn't pass through "telling the truth." Although it did for Benedict.

Yes--the faux Christocentrism of the law-and-order gospel. Jesus is Lord of the key bit of the broader argument that I make him Lord of. (And the Lord of the rest is really... me!)

@LauraRbnsn The basic problem here is that their underlying account of the Gospel is off, and the more sensitive among them are beginning to detect the anomalies. Ultimately, you have to police those concerns; you can't listen to them. Expect more fracturing. Jesus is at work!

So, the #1 thing I'm seeing here is that BBC seems to be at war over a dilemma: do you choose to side with people who have been hurt by abuse and structural problems or society, or with "truth?" Notice that the idea that harmed people can be sources of truth or messengers of

In my latest for @CTmagazine, I tried to get at the conflict beneath the conflict at Bethlehem Baptist Church and Bethlehem College and Seminary. Let's just say there's a lot going on. This is the longest article I've ever written. christianitytoday.com/ct/2021/august…

Reflections on the Southern Baptist Convention (which I did NOT follow closely... ). As soon as a church starts plotting itself in terms of the left or the right the only thing that is clear is that church has lost the plot. nytimes.com/2021/06/15/us/…

@TGC How did we get to the point that attacking homosexuality and transgenderism became a full-time event that rivals Christmas in its importance (and ultimately misunderstands that event)? Rom 10:2-4

It will be clear what I think about @ProfDCampbell's "Pauline Dogmatics" from my endorsement on the back cover: it may be the most important book you ever read. And now it's on sale! amazon.co.uk/Pauline-Dogmat…

More reflections on the real Benedict option: "When [a follower of Christ] does speak, he should do so gently and without mockery, humbly and seriously, in a few well-chosen words." Food for thought. (1 Cor 3:1-3!)
