Data point from our Measuring Justice Dashboard's new Charge Disposition metric: Of >3 million traffic safety charges, just 5.7% ended in a finding of guilt. Nearly 2 million of those criminal charges ended w/only civil liability via an infraction. More: cjil.shinyapps.io/MeasuringJusti…

There's a lot to unpack in our new Dashboard metric on how NC charges get resolved. One tidbit: Of the 3M+ traffic safety misdemeanor charges disposed from 2014 to 2023, less than 6% resulted in a finding of criminal guilt. Explore more: cjil.shinyapps.io/MeasuringJusti…

Great news: according to @CouncilonCJ, homicides in big cities were down 13% in the 1st half of 24 compared to the 1st half of 23. There were also 2% less murders than during the first half of 19. We may have finally recovered from the surge in 20/21. counciloncj.org/crime-trends-i…

@MeganTStevenson IMO it’s important to align ur review w/the unit’s standards. Eg, some units require a certain number of publication in certain types/tiers of journals; some require national reputation, others international. The requester should provide you with the standards.
