If you told me that we would be able to see the faint hue of the northern lights in central New Mexico, I would’ve called you a liar

@JoshuaGrubbsPhD I'm sorry. That must be a terrible feeling for you. Good news, though: they will likely move from the Midwest and wonder why you ever lived here

@ProfJoeWeaver See, now you are figuring out the truly greatest comeback for me ragging on Midwestern food. My wife figured it out a while ago, but when you tell me that my kids are Ohioans/Midwesterners, there’s literally nothing I can say as a come back.

Can you imagine, can you even imagine, what it must’ve been like to be one of the kings horses asked to put Humpty Dumpty back together again? Like, you’re standing around doing horse things, don’t even have thumbs, and someone comes up to you and ask you to glue an egg together?

@ProfPash This is called "just-in-time teaching" and it keeps things fresh. That's the line I tell myself 😉

Maybe the real open letter resignations over a policy you decided to willfully misrepresent because it serves your overall brand are the friends we made along the way

@KatherineSliter Lately, 15 to 20% but I am sometimes upset when I have to pay/tip first then have to ask for the missing items. I'm not sure that is how tipping is supposed to work.

Big family parenting is getting up with two kiddos after you get back from a midnight trip to the ER with the littlest one and then you get up at 6 to pack lunches

Seriously though, is there a way to reset the old comment set up? Like can I manually change the setting back?

Do you feel connection and kinship with other faculty at your institution (especially in other depts)? If so, please share: What fostered that network? Why are those bonds important? How to further grow community?

@ProfPash Formal, structured teams and projects helped to form connections. They are important. Colleagues from other departments influence my teaching, research, and my service. I'm not one to seek out extra connections so introductions from others are the primary source of growth

@JoshuaGrubbsPhD As opposed to merit as it is supposed to be now? I'm thinking that an open review process (i.e., anyone can review and rate) will help identify the best.

This is the piece that I keep wondering about with recent announcements. What to prevent publishing companies from wholesale requiring ludicrous APCs? And, if a university stopped having to pay journal subscriptions, would that recoup the cost for an entire institution?

@ProfPash @lluaces @ajshackman That is, the classification we impose on other's emotions only works as well as others have learned to label their experiences with that classification.

@ProfPash @lluaces @ajshackman I think the argument that they are the same or are different may be off mark. They are subjective experiences and may be undistinguished for some and differentiated for others. Each instance of emotional experiences is always somewhat different from a similarly labeled experience
