The strength of this project lies in its student-led model. They translated abstract concepts like carbon rights, benefit sharing, & customary justice into lived realities, thereby giving meaning to the idea that law must serve people and the planet -@ProfOdote @uonbi @kibugy

On Thursday, 19th February 2026, I had the singular honour of presenting my Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Charles III at St James’s Palace. Presentation of credentials, though steeped in history, remains one of the most meaningful moments in diplomacy. It is a pause to honour the past - and, more importantly, a gateway to the future. In my audience with His Majesty, we reflected on the enduring friendship between Kenya 🇰🇪 and the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 including his memorable State Visit to Kenya in 2023. Together, we look ahead with clarity and purpose: to strengthen Kenya - UK relations; enhance trade and investment; and engineer deeper people-to-people and technological collaboration. It was a privilege to share the occasion with the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps, Amb. Alistair Harrison, and 19 fellow Heads of Mission, including the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Amb. Ivan Martinez of Honduras, and the Dean of the African Group, Amb. Christian Katsande of Zimbabwe. Their presence affirmed a simple but powerful truth - diplomacy is never a solitary endeavour. In a time that calls for renewed multilateralism, sustainable solutions must be co-created. Engaging with our vibrant Kenyan #diaspora was equally inspiring. From civic leaders such as Mayor Sally Kimondo and Lord-Lieutenant Prof. Veronica Moraa Pickering, to distinguished academics including Prof. Langat and Dr. Oindo, and dynamic entrepreneurs like Ms Cecilia Wambui and Ms Perez Ochieng’, I encountered #stories of #courage, #resilience and #excellence. Our diaspora remains one of Kenya’s most strategic assets~ ambassadors in their own right. As we prepared for this milestone, I was reminded of the power of teamwork. The staff of the @KenyaMissionUK from our Deputy High Commissioner @AmbWarui, to our security officers, administrative teams, drivers and support staff — gave their very best. Experience met fresh perspective. Commitment met creativity. And together, they delivered excellence. As we said in Kiswahili: Sio bora kufanya. Fanya bora. Not just to do — but to do well. Or better yet: Sio bora reception. Reception bora! Kudos Team Kenya. Onwards and upwards. 🇰🇪🇬🇧 @SingoeiAKorir @Diaspora_KE @ForeignOfficeKE @MusaliaMudavadi @OfficePCS_KE @roselinenjogu @edwardabarnett @UKinKenya
