I caught an owl last night! We’re seeing the dying phases of a Sun-like star. Hot gases have been shed as the star runs out of nuclear fuel. The Owl nebula spans about 2,000 times the Earth to Neptute distance. The lovely green hues are due to glowing oxygen gas. #planetarynebula

Peering almost 25 million light-years deep, I snapped the stunning Pinwheel Galaxy (M101) last night…nearly twice the span of our Milky Way Galaxy, it packs atleast 1 trillion stars. Looking down from afar, our Galaxy would look something like this spiral pattern #galaxy #m101

Just attend the awesome UCL 200 illuminated light show to mark the bicentennial year of @ucl … so honoured and chuffed that among all the amazing UCL highlights an image of me was projected onto the esteemed buildings! #UCL200 #universitycollegelondon

Snapped this lovely flower in space! It’s the Rosette Nebula in the constellation on Monoceros. The nebula spans 100 light years across. The cluster of stars in the centre were born in the nebula and are clearing a hole in the Rosette #nebula #Rosette #wondersofthenightsky

Captured this lovely view of the Orion Nebula, a star-making factory that’s almost 90 million times further from us than the Sun, in the constellation of Orion, The Hunter. (With the bonus appearance of a meteor streak!) #orion #starformation #stars #OurCosmos #meteor

I’ve just caught the ‘cold’ full Moon…the final supermoon of 2025! It is about 357,000 km from us today compared to an average distance of 384,400 km. It’s slightly closer to us, so it appears bigger, brighter and even more beautiful in the sky! #supermoon #WondersOfTheMoon

My garden capture tonight, a stunning cluster of more than 100,000 whirling stars. This stellar snow globe is 25,000 light-years away. Tightly packed in there are some of the oldest stars in our Galaxy, with ages of 12 billion years. #WondersOfTheNightSky #HerculesCluster #stars

From my garden in London tonight I snapped this view of the remains of a massive star that exploded in 1054 AD! It’s the Crab supernova remnant. The leftovers seen include oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, silicon and other elements that make up our bodies. We are stardust! #supernova

Just snapped the last super moon of 2025; The Moon appears bigger in the sky tonight as it’s about 27,000 km closer to us right now than its average distance. #supermoon #WondersOfTheMoon

I’ve had a therapeutic and chilled time putting 446 little wooden pieces together (plus some electronics) to make this Space Shuttle launch platform! @NASA #spaceshuttle #rocket
