In today’s nerdy news, I’m giving my #literature students an introductory lecture about @neilhimself written by #ChatGPT and asking them to evaluate the accuracy and value of that material based on their reading so far. I think I’m going to call it “Gaiman and the Machine.”
After conducting numerous scientific studies for the benefit of humanity, I can confirm for you that pancakes always taste better in the mountains. #Facts#TennesseeAutumn
It's been a rough 2 years, but today I had the privilege of congratulating students who have been awarded a scholarship to #StudyAbroad with @tncis this summer. It gave me great nerdy joy and I very much look forward to doing it again in the future. #ProfLife
ProTip: Don't proofread your own work. Let your students do it for you so they can interrupt your lecture and call you out in front of the whole class. 😂

I was feeling nostalgic, so I made the world's ugliest scones. They're definitely not up to the quality of an Irish grandmother's, but they'll do until I can have the real thing...preferably in a castle with a lovely cup of tea.

@lawisejr@ProfessorAmiM@volstatecampus@CollegeSystemTN@tncis Ms. Price is the best professor I have had to date! She is tough, but taught me so much about the material and to believe in my writing abilities. I now have written several articles for numerous non-profits because of her teachings. Amazing professor!
I've been chasing the dream of creating a kinder, gentler syllabus that also keeps me from LOSING MY EVER LOVING MIND during these trying times.
I think that dream is officially dead. 😂

The great thing about #teaching during these challenging times is that I haven't had to make many updates to my day one presentation.

I really appreciate all of the good wishes to, "Have a wonderful 2022," but I'll happily settle for an adequate 2022. A plain old satisfactory C+ kind of year sounds absolutely delightful. 😂

Art has sustained and maybe even saved me over the past year. As we head into 2022, I hope that those who can do so continue to #MakeGoodArt and that the rest of us continue to let it save us.
We unexpectedly lost my Dad this year.
It nearly killed me.
At the funeral, I kept thinking about the narrator's words in #TheOceanAtTheEndOfTheLane by @neilhimself: "I was wearing the right clothes for a hard day." I gained a new layer of appreciation for the novel.
Did anybody else just try on their regalia for the first time since before Covid and breathe a huge sigh of relief because it still fits?

If you really want to see a Southerner's head explode, make biscuits in a cast iron skillet and then jokingly ask if you can put said cast iron skillet in the dishwasher. 😂
