Back in old school The Old Coach message board days, Coach Vanderford's dad was a message board poster and would always battle with the Arroyo Knight, Aggie Lawyer and some other big names.. but then would always email me the inside scoop. Loved that family..

Coach Vanderford was part of Marcus's state title run in 1997 before starting up Flower Mound High's program as their first coach. He moved over to Argyle as a golf coach and brought a state championship there too. Rest in Peace, Coach Vanderford!

I appreciate the kind words. I don't know what it means to go through the social media. I know that I don't see a highly rated prospect currently attached to CHHS (that doesn't mean they won't be a good team) - and I know that the player in question who was at CHHS but is not now is getting offers from A&M/OSU/SMU even without having put up stats last year. That to me verifies the statement. This is the first year in 4-5 years I haven't seen the workhorse at QB at CHHS yet. Yet is the key word. I trust the culture and system enough to keep them relatively high, but haven't seen anything yet to justify a regional championship threat or a R1 home game.
