At #GTMO this week observing 9/11 proceedings. Today- defense argument that pre-trial agreement could not be withdrawn, since Rule 705 of the Military Commission Manual allows cancellation "at any time before the accused begins performance of promises contained in the agreement"

#GTMO defense lawyers have contacted legal ethics advisors to ask if they can continue to participate in proceedings in light of termination of pre-trial agreements.

That this award is named for a dear friend, mentor and colleague who meant so much to me as a new professor (and frankly, as a new adult), is particularly meaningful, even though it still hurts that we lost Beth Eisler way too soon.

I'm humbled to have received the Beth Eisler 1L Teaching Award at #utoledo23 @utoledolaw graduation today. Teaching 1Ls - this group no exception - is one of the great joys of being a law professor. Watching them grow into fantastic lawyers-to-be like the class of '23 is another!
