Huge thanks to @Lola__McEvoy for joining us in the Lords on Tuesday to mark the day-one SSP entitlement and the end of the Lower Earnings Limit which will see over 10m workers better off.

Great to have @connor_naismith with us in the Lords on Tuesday to celebrate the Safe Sick Pay wins in the Employment Rights Act. 1.7m workers will now get sick pay for the first time. Thank you for being part of it.

On April 6th Labour extended sick pay to more workers and removed the 3 day waiting period. This is the result of a decade of campaigning from trade unions and civil society. Good to celebrate with friends from the Safe Sick Pay Coalition @Prog_Change.

Covid proved how important decent sick leave rights are for everyone’s health. Now 10m workers gain new rights but still more work to do!

We also heard powerful speeches from Tony @LeukaemiaCareUK, Nil @MindCharity, Sofia, #SafeSickPay campaigner & @roswynnejones @DailyMirror. Thanks to all the unions, businesses, charities, academics & experts who joined to celebrate our shared success & hopes for the future.

A further 1.7 million people are eligible for Statutory #SickPay for the first time 🙌 These changes come with the support of 170+ MPs and peers, and 150+ organisations, over the last 4 years. Thank you to every member of the coalition, working together to make this possible.
