Top 8 at the Venice Regional. It was a very special event, full of both amazing and really awful emotions.
As for the Swiss rounds and the top cut, I’ll post all the matchups later on. I played Enel — the deck is extremely solid, even though the matchup against Nami still feels like praying to the god of luck every single time (4 Varie are absolutely necessary for that matchup).
Not much more to say about the deck itself. The current meta doesn’t really excite me, but playing Enel basically allows you to consistently go X-2 in most cases and then hope to make top cut.
I’m really happy with this result because after a disappointing World Championship, I needed a result like this to start believing in myself again.
The best moment I experienced this weekend was thanks to Roberto Rondino(@RobertoOPTCG). We played against each other, and on my lethal attack he played double spell and said, “I block.” Without overthinking it, I scooped, told him he had been a bit lucky since he had literally seen everything, and walked away smiling because there wasn’t much else I could do.
While we were waiting for the next round, he thought back to the match and realized that my lethal had actually gone through, because with double spell his leader was at 11k and my Senor Pink was also 11k. He literally chased me through the venue to tell me, and even though I was completely fine with the result because I hadn’t noticed it myself, he still wanted to go to the judges and change the result.
To me, this is the beauty of the One Piece community and the bond that has been created between players. After all these years, we’ve all become friends. So thank you, Robi, sincerely, for what you did. It wasn’t something to take for granted.
The negative part of the weekend instead comes from the fact that a 14-year-old kid, at his very first event, got his deck stolen. Even though both @LuigiAmatoTCG and I tried to help find it, it never showed up, and he even had to drop from Sunday’s Treasure Cup.
Leaving aside the deck’s economic value — which honestly wasn’t even that high (and if it had been, it would’ve only made things worse) — I find this absolutely disgusting. Especially when someone approaches card games while still being a kid, the community should protect them, not take advantage of them like vultures.
For me, this was a missed opportunity to show the beautiful side of this community, something that unfortunately gets ruined by a few people who can only be described as rats.
To finish, congratulations to @fedemeco_ — an incredible player, despite playing a deck with… questionable qualities (lol).
Four Italians have won the last four Regionals. That’s just proof that in Italy, at least in this game, an incredible amount of work is being done, and I’m proud of that.

Running 4 Franky makes a lot of sense if your goal is to have maximum consistency in the mirror match, because there the game is often decided by who finds the right sequence first and who has more ‘live pieces’ to play without wasting tempo.
About 4-cost Reiju, I agree that she’s probably the best one in terms of versatility and efficiency, especially in the matchup against Nami.
But with Blast, I felt like I could take more risks. And against the classic finisher like Sanji + a pumped Robin (15k), Blast works exactly like a virtual extra blocker.

@Progress_2126 I see, and 4 franky good? Instead of a 4th reiju? Or more varie or divine departure

@jasonv0916 You have to play mu very well, but it isnt impossible

The same fate as Bonn tournaments…
Regional 3-3 drop ❌
Treasure Cup 9-1 ✅
6th place again😭😭😭😭😭
At the regional I played with 1 Divine Departure and 13 one-drops. I regretted it and it cost me the tournament.
Whereas in the Treasure Cup, with the second one, it went much better.
I want to congratulate my brother @zanna887 for the amazing result, Stefano for the victory, and all the Italians who made it to the top.
I want to thank my team @project7x_ , the entire Brescia community, and everyone who supported me.

Since i am getting 1 gazillion DMs about my (no dog) list. Here is the one i've been playing the last 24h. I don't always share my decklists for one main reason, i change them every 8h so it's quite pointless. I don't think there is any secret card for Enel, every good card has been discovered already, you need to make decisions to make matchups better/worse.
P.S.
Playing without dog makes the deck harder but more rewarding, at least that's my take on it. It increases consistency but decreases free win carried by him if you start with it.

I’ll answer here regarding the match-up against Nami and my gameplan without Holly.
I try to block the first life, if possible, with an event (so I can set up the 4 events needed for Reiju as soon as possible).
Staying at 5 or 4 life helps, because Kikunojo won’t activate as a trigger and you can safely take life from the field without risks.
Playing Reiju early increases your win rate a lot: the only real answer they have is Zeus.
Also, seeing at least one Enel is important, because having such a big swing is really strong.
The deck’s main goal always stays the same: maintaining control of the board. It’s crucial to remove all the big threats that Nami can play, such as Robin, Moria, and Whitebeard.
When you have several more pieces on the field than your opponent, the game tends to stabilize.
In the following turns, you want to attack as much as possible to force Nami to draw as many cards as you can, and in the late game, the Lightning Dragon + Señor Pink combo allows you to stay safe against her all-in.

“2^ place”
It was a very intense tournament, where I got to test myself against some truly amazing players.
I really enjoyed this format and I think it allows players to express their strengths at their best.
For example, Enel could be played in different versions: aggro/explosive, midrange, and control.
I chose the control version because I believe that, in this game, having board presence is essential.
Many of you asked me why I decided not to include Holly in my list.
I’ll explain the reasoning behind my choice by looking at the pros and cons.
Pros:
Holly is very strong when drawn early in the game, especially on an odd curve, and basically against every match-up.
It allows you to play more aggressively and it protects its partner Ohm, turning it into a 6k body.
Cons:
Holly loses a lot of value in the late game.
Also, it takes away space from the deck’s consistency (especially regarding 1-drops), which in a very long tournamen as I expected it to be — could have been crucial.
As I often say, my strategy was to prioritize board presence, so consistency (and removal card combinations) was fundamental.
I want to thank my team @project7x_ , the entire Brescia community, and all the people who supported me.
A special thanks goes to @YonasOPTCG , who supported me after what happened between us: psychologically, it helped me a lot.
Congratulations to @LuigiAmatoTCG : I’m really happy about your result, you truly deserved it.
