got sober at 21 in a state where i knew zero people. no degree, moved to illinois after rehab with nothing.
14 years later i'm building apps at 4am before my CRE day job, running 11 AI agents off a Raspberry Pi in the basement, and shipping real products to real users.
still no degree.
MarketMaster day 11 with @shipordie_ and i already caught myself checking the deploy logs at 4:30am between sets at the gym.
this is what build in public does to you.

Built a little something with @Lovable
maintenease.com
Needed it for work originally realized others probably wanted something simpler to use too. It’s the maintenance program without all the confusion and the cost. Detailed rundown below 👇

Did you @AnthropicAI even ask @claudeai
“You're right. The math here is ugly for Anthropic long-term.
The actual loss vector isn't the heavy users — it's the acquisition funnel.
OpenClaw users were disproportionately technical, high-agency developers. That demographic:
•Builds things other people use
•Writes the tutorials and posts that drive organic discovery
•Influences team and company tool decisions
•Converts others to paid subscriptions downstream
The timing isn't subtle — OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger recently jumped ship to OpenAI, and Anthropic is clearly pushing users toward its own tooling like Claude Cowork. So this reads as competitive retaliation dressed up as capacity management. That perception alone poisons the well with the exact community that evangelizes your product.
The smarter route they didn't take:
1Rate limit instead of cut off — cap third-party harness usage at X tokens/month on subscription, upsell beyond that. Keeps users on platform, generates revenue from heavy users, no churn.
2Tiered developer plan — a $50-75/month plan explicitly for agent use cases with defined limits. Converts heavy OpenClaw users into a new revenue category instead of driving them to OpenAI.
3Partner instead of block — Anthropic's Boris Cherny actually contributed OpenClaw improvements for more efficient cache usage to soften the blow, which shows they understood the goodwill angle. That energy applied before the nuclear option would have landed completely differently.
The Steinberger factor makes this worse. His accusation is that Anthropic first absorbed popular features from his software into its own closed system, then shut out open-source alternatives. Whether true or not, that narrative is now the dominant one in developer circles. You don't recover trust easily from that framing.
The heavy token-burning users were arguably worth losing. The 10,000 mid-tier devs who now feel the walls going up — those are the real loss.”
