You only have to spend an hour of your life listening to TNT Sports, Sky Sports or Talk Sport to hear the complete bias and over the top conversation when it comes to English sides in the Champions league. This isn't a new thing, but this week has been a bit of a humbling experience for a few clubs who bow out, leaving only two standing. Chelsea, Spurs, Manchester City & Newcastle were beaten and conceded a bag full of goals between them. 28 in total. Tonight, Newcastle shipped SEVEN in Barcelona and some of the defending was simply comical 2nd half. Chelsea were a laughing stock against PSG shipping goals for fun. Was like men v boys. Manchester City once again were outclassed by Real Madrid. The Spanish side have knocked City out in 3 of the last 4 years. And maybe the least surprising of the results was Spurs bowing out to Atlético Madrid but they still conceded a daft amount of goals. But we all know, this time next year, we will have some of the same clown pundits giving it the big one about the Premier league and completely disregarding the European sides before a ball has been kicked. Fans will always have differing opinions and that is fine, but there can be no doubts there is an arrogance about English sides in Europe from the media and particularly pundits and this week, 4 of the 6 have been humbled. #UCL #championsleague #UEFA #England #Europe #football #ManchesterCity #Mancity #Chelsea #CFC #Newcastle #NUFC #Spurs #Tottenham #PremierLeague #Atlético #Madrid #Realmadrid #Barcelona #Barca #paris #PSG #europeanfootball

A big result in the National League tonight as Southend United made it 5 games unbeaten and 2 wins in 4 days as they beat leaders Rochdale 3-2. Southend are now in the final playoff place on 61 points, 4 points behind Forest Green and 2 points ahead of Halifax. For Rochdale, it was a case of opportunity missed, it was their game in hand on York City and a chance to put 5 points between them and York. Their lead at the top still stands at 2 points and both sides now have 8 games to go and the final day sees Rochdale play York. #Southend #SUFC #southendunited #Rochdale #Dale #nonleaguefootball #nonleague #football #NationalLeague

With 8 games to go for most in the Championship, who does everyone fancy to get the last two playoff spots. Wrexham and Hull City are currently in the driving seat but we all know this league. Wrexham lost to Watford tonight which was their game in hand. Hull have lost 3 of their last 4 in the league. Over the last 10 games, Norwich and Southampton are top of the form table ans Saints have a game in hand. Derby and Watford are still bang there despite a mixed bag of results. A very hard one to call with less than 10 games to go (We are obviously going with the belief Coventry, Middlesbrough, Ipswich and Millwall are good for at least a playoff spot) #EFL #championship #Hull #Wrexham #southampton #derby #Watford #Birmingham #Swansea #norwich #football #playoffs

What a moment for Watford and Italy midfielder Edoardo Bove who came off the bench and scored a late goal to seal all 3 points for the Hornets. Bove collapsed on the pitch with heart problems when playing for Fiorentina in 2024 on loan from Roma, he has only recently returned to playing again. He was forced to leave Italy due to their rules around playing after heart conditions and made the move to England and Watford. Roma fans gave him a wonderful send off and tonight he scored his first goal and his celebration said it all, pure emotion and relief. And at full time, he was greeted by Roma fans with the below sign, he went over and met them and signed bits for them. The Roma fans sign reads "Even if you leave Rome, you won't be alone" 👏🏻👏🏻 respect. 🇮🇹 🤝 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 #Italy #Italia #Roma #Watford #England #SerieA #italianfootball #EdoardoBove #Bove #WFC #EFL #championship #Rome #Fiorentina #Florence

Crystal Palace is rooted in one type of player: mavericks. Any generation of #CPFC supporters would say that is why they love watching them. Yet that unpredictability has evaporated in Oliver Glasner’s final season, with supporters' bored and exhausted groans a matchday staple. inews.co.uk/sport/football…

Italian club Vicenza have tonight been promoted to Série B! 🇮🇹 The club formed in 1902. A famous name in the world of Italian football but a club who have suffered. In 2004, the downfall of the club started then in 2018, the club went bankrupt. They have spent many years in Serie C and missed out on promotion back to Série B on a few occasions. Vicenza are previously winners of the Copa Italia in 1996 and 3 Série B titles in their history meaning they have spent time in Série A. The club have even been in European competition last coming in 1997 when they played and beat Chelsea in the home leg. This season it is so far 24 wins from 32 games and sit 20 points clear and tonight confirmed promotion. Let's hope it is a return to the good times for Vicenza. 👏🏻 👏🏻 🔴⚪️🔴⚪️ #Italy #italian #vicenzacalcio #vicenza #italia #football #futbol #Europe #SerieC #SérieB

Whilst the football itself definitely won’t be helping, the atmosphere at Selhurst has been pretty dire all season long. It feels to me as though the club are seeking to sensationalise the matchday build-up etc and are actually killing it as a consequence.

Blackburns winning goal at Millwall today from the away end! It is fair to say they enjoyed that one! The game was turned on it's head by the away side after Millwall were controversially reduced to 10 men in the 2nd half when 1-0 up. A massive 3 points for Blackburn Rovers who were winless in 4 games before today's game. They still have work to do to stay up. Meanwhile a big blow for Millwall who were hoping to take advantage of Middlesbrough dropping points at lunchtime. On this day 9 years ago, Leicester City were beating Sevilla 2-0 to reach the Champions league quarter finals! 😯 today Leicester lost 3-1 at home to QPR in the championship which leaves them 2nd bottom of the league. Next season will be 10 years on from their Champions league campaign and some amazing times in the clubs history but will they find themselves playing League One football? Long gone are the days of trips to Seville, it may be Stevenage instead. #Leicester #LeicesterCity #LCFC #Foxes #football #KingPower #EFL #championship #leagueone #relegationbattle #UCL

Huddersfield fans not at all happy with their goalless draw at bottom side Port Vale this afternoon and they made their feelings clear to the players and manager Liam Manning. Huddersfield who were one of the pre season favourites for promotion have had an up and down season and are 20 points adrift of the automatic promotion places. There has already been a managerial change at the club and have lost 13 and drawn 8 of the League one games. However, The Terriers are still in the playoffs (only on goal difference) with Stockport, Reading, Wycombe and Plymouth on their tails. Norwich City make it 9 wins from their last 11 league games as they continue to fly up the table, beating Preston 2-0 who are rapidly going in the opposite direction. Back on 19th December, Preston were 3rd in the Championship on 35 points and Norwich were 2nd bottom of the league on 17 points. But how times have changed! After today's game, Norwich leapfrogged Preston to move on to 51 points, and up to 12th in the league. North End are in 17th on 49 points. Norwich, 9 wins from their last 11 league games ✅️ Preston, 4 defeats in a row, and no win in their last 7. ❌️ The Championship everybody! #EFLChampionship #Norwich #NCFC #PNE #Preston #PrestonNorthEnd #football #Championship

A wonderful new sculpture has been unveiled in Sheffield depicting the first ever toss of a coin to decide the outcome of an FA Cup match! Back in 1873, the world's oldest football club, Sheffield FC faced Shropshire Wanderers in the first round of the FA Challenge Cup (FA Cup) in late October and the match finished 0-0 at Bramall Lane, a few weeks later Sheffield FC travelled to Shropshire for the replay (remember them?) at Shrewsbury Racecourse which also finished 0-0. With the North London Pilgrims waiting in the wings to play the winners of the first round tie in the second round of the Cup just five days later there wasn't enough time for a second replay and since penalty shootouts hadn't been invented yet it was decided that the outcome of the match would be decided by the toss of a coin! Both teams went out for a post-match dinner at the Raven Hotel in Shrewsbury where the captains from both sides tossed a coin to decide who would progress in the competition! Sheffield FC won the toss and they went on to reach the third round where they got knocked out by Clapham Rovers. The sculpture "Head or Tails" has been created by Sheffield-born artist and sculptor David Westby in honour of his late brother, Martin, who was one of the city’s most respected football historians. This stunning sculpture takes the form of three coins suspended in mid-spin. Its shape incorporates both a figure two, symbolising the two competing teams, and the letter S for Sheffield. It has been erected on the walkway between the Millennium Gallery and the Central Library in Sheffield. What a wonderful piece of history! @sheffieldfc #FACup #SheffieldFC @FACupFactfile
