Alight, spent a couple hours looking over everything and really trying to average the timing of when that snow-sleet-ice line starts pushing north. So based on it all here's my personal last call map. And yea, I did have to bring numbers down, which I hate doing, but sometimes you just have to. I'm on the more conservative side with these numbers but mix scenarios are rough! I'm assuming DC will transition over sometime around 10am Sunday AM. If we hold onto snow a bit longer, we could easily boom. Opposite is true of course if the opposite happens. But I'm hoping that given the fact this is good, strong polar air in place (have you stepped outside today?) that we might be able to fight that mix line just a little longer. For DCA I'm in the 6-8" range myself. For comparison I'll throw the latest in there from NWS, who is on the higher side in many locations and I'm rooting for them for sure! These are just my thoughts on the matter. Including the latest ice forecast as well. Think we're doing a lot of sleet in between the snow and freezing rain. But the one idea that has not changed this entire storm is that it's wintry *something* front to back. It's going to be plenty cold. And with strong cold still coming in behind the storm, Mother Nature won't help us melt much the next week. Stay safe out there! More to come! ❄️
