MEDIA RELEASE PUBLIC ALERT ON THE RECALL OF MEGLUMINE AMIDOTRIZOATE/ SODIUM AMIDOTRIZOATE 0.3 / 0.6 / 0.76 G/ML UROGRAFIN 60% (SOLUTION FOR INJECTION) Embargo: Immediate Release Harare, 24 March 2026 - The Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe wishes to inform healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical stakeholders, and members of the public of a voluntary product recall concerning Meglumine Amidotrizoate / Sodium Amidotrizoate 0.3 / 0.6 / 0.76 g/mL (Urografin 60%) Solution for Injection, a contrast agent used in X-ray and diagnostic imaging procedures. This action follows a critical communication from Bayer Pty Ltd (South Africa), indicating that all batches manufactured between October 2020 and March 2025 are affected. The recall has been initiated after confirmatory testing detected an impurity, N-Nitroso-Meglumine (NO-Meglumine), at levels exceeding newly established safety thresholds. Recent scientific studies have shown that this impurity is genotoxic and potentially carcinogenic, prompting a significant reduction in the acceptable daily intake limit to protect patient safety. The Authority confirms that Urografin 60% was registered in Zimbabwe in 2018. However, there is no record of its importation into the country between 2020 and 2026. Despite this, there remains a potential risk that the product may have entered the local market through unauthorized or illegal channels. Healthcare facilities, pharmacies, and wholesalers are urged to remain vigilant and ensure that this product is not in circulation or use. Members of the public and healthcare professionals who encounter Urografin 60% are strongly advised to refrain from using or administering the product. Any suspected presence of the product should be immediately reported to the Authority or a qualified healthcare provider. The MCAZ will intensify market surveillance activities, including inspections and public awareness initiatives, to prevent the circulation of this potentially harmful product. The Authority remains committed to safeguarding public and animal health by ensuring that all medicines in Zimbabwe meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficacy. There are 4 pillars of structural power: Security, Finance, Information & Mode of Production. During the Chimurenga 2 between 1970-75 there were less guns and more mass conscientization. They understood that in that kind of war, you could have as many guns as you can but you would not win without a knowlegeable and engaged mass. As we organize to defend our constitution, it is important that we keep this in the back of our minds. We cannot win without a knowlegeable and engaged mass. We also know that traditional channels of communication are closed. We have no access to traditional media and our meetings are being cancelled and police is arresting our people. Instead of wallowing, we organize differently. We know 94% of adult Zimbabweans have Whatsapp. We are engaging them there. These "Referendums" we are running are a way of bringing attention to the important issue at hand. This is why we are asking you to share them widely, kumusha, kumagroup, everywhere. When you do that, we kill 3 birds with one stone.

𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟯𝟬 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗘𝗗. 1. According to the wording of section 328(1), a Constitutional Bill can only seek the extension of a term limit for “a” person, implying that a Bill can only seek extension for one person’s term at a time. 2. This means that Constitutional Amendment Bill 3, which seeks to extend the term limits of both the President and Parliament, is voidable and should be redrafted into two separate bills: one for the President’s term and another for Parliament’s. Both Bills cannot be presented to Parliament simultaneously, as the second must wait for the first to be considered and finalised before another Bill is presented. 3. The Bill is asking for a change to the term limits of the President and Parliament, but hoping that the current President and Parliament will both enjoy the extensions in this current term. 4. According to the constitution in 328(7), an incumbent or current sitting official cannot benefit from a term‑limit extension enacted during their term. 5. So, ZANU PF will additionally need to present two separate Bills to change section 328 of constitution to allow incumbents to enjoy term changes in the same term they change them. This makes four, the total number of Bills that need to be presented for these constitutional changes and all four will need to go for referendum to pass for President Mnangagwa to get to 2030. This will take at least three to four years to achieve, notwithstanding legal challenges.

I’ve had this plan since last year October bro. To offer a very rigorous practical/hands on Digital Skills short course. 6-months (2 months internship) or 1 year for the advanced course (4 months internship). It was purely driven by the alarming rise of population yemaghetto yuts vanoswerera unproductive activities, it dawned on me when I discovered that several of them actually have various qualifications but ‘mabasa haasi kuwanika’. It’s open to everyone but the target market is those vasitorina zvekuita. This is a short and well articulated hands on Digital Skills course, with lesser theory & no fancy names or titles. You only need a laptop, phone and internet to get started, meaning less capital intensive. At the end of the course, you get a certificate + transcript. During learning phase, each group will also be assisted to register a company + other required compliance documents. As soon as mapedza, makutotanga chinhu chenyu, no need to wait kuti ‘mabasa avhurike’ you can start pushing freelance (the whole point of the course) uri paden.Regardless, skill does not automatically mean sales, it’s a different acumen and the most important thing in business or entrepreneurship - sales/selling. Hauzoshayewo 1 or 2 clients but it’s better than nothing. However: 1. it’s not easy to setup the course, it needs funding for resources, premises and staff. 2. Inini wacho I’m still learning, and much closer to the ground than the top or even the middle. I can give as much as I have. I can teach as much as I know, one can’t pour from an empty cup… I need to fill mine first ndozodirirawo vamwe.

Earlier this week, RBZ said “the recent oil price shock is expected to increase prices in the near-term”, but it expects inflation to “stay within the single digit level throughout 2026 and the outlook”.

The Competition and Tariff Commission (CTC) is seeking public comments on CBZ’s plan to take a 17.5% stake in Dokuma, the software firm with the Govt tender to digitise the Deeds Office. The deal ties into CBZ’s strong role in land. Through CBZ Agro-Yield, the country’s biggest bank is already leading a programme to issue title deeds to resettled farmers. Dokuma also says it is part of the Presidential Title Deed programme, “which aims to address the issue of informal settlements in Zimbabwe by urbanising them and issuing title deeds to their residents.”

𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗛𝗔𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗢𝗡 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘? As an anecdote, last week, Joshua Maponga had an accident on his way to Kwekwe. Speaking from Arundel Hospital, he lamented the fact that after his accident, he spent over 4 hrs waiting by the roadside for emergency services on that stretch of road. Once the ambulance arrived, Maponga was taken to a private hospital called Arundel, owned by Kuda Tagwirei, all the way in Harare—skipping a number of government hospitals in Kwekwe, Chegutu and even Harare—simply because none of them could provide proper emergency care. Sanctions on Zimbabwe were removed on March 4, 2024, so why do we still not have adequate ambulances and emergency services in our public hospitals for any class of person to get quality care? The reason we fought to remove sanctions was to enable our government to sign lease agreements to lease ambulances with well‑resourced fleet managers in Zimbabwe or South Africa (they don’t have to buy them cash), so that we’d have enough ambulances in every town and city to save lives in emergencies. Our government can afford monthly instalments for a huge fleet of ambulances and fire trucks. We also did it so that our government could import the latest medical equipment from anywhere in the world, which they can do now since sanctions are gone. So where’s the problem? The problem is that since ZANU PF got another mandate in the 2023 elections and since sanctions were removed in March 2024, our leaders have spent more time focused on promoting 2030 than buying ambulances. So, how would you rate the President’s delivery on healthcare: excellent, good, fair, bad, or poor? Does he deserve a term extension?
