@bow33081 @nickshirleyy @mentallyidaho It’s understandable that you are concerned for his care. I hope you and other family members can visit often. If the center knows you will be frequent visitors, they may be more attentive to his needs. Wishing the best for your family.

@bow33081 @nickshirleyy @mentallyidaho Move him to a different facility if you are not satisfied with his care there, or take him into your own home and care for him yourself if you can. Social Security was only meant to supplement retirement savings. If he can’t walk, someone is there providing 24/7 care.

My grandfather is 80 he stays in a live in elderly home in Oregon. He gets $1290 a month from social security. He has no home, no property he has nothing. He uses Medicare from Health and human services. They require him to use every dollar to pay the facility. He can’t walk or care for himself. He can’t pay his cell or save anything. Is this what you call a reasonable life before you die? A system that you paid into for so long and you get chump change. The facility covered by your insurance or covered by HHS do not care for you. They don’t feed you, bathe you, cut your hair or nails like they are supposed to. These facilities only covered by insurance don’t even make it comfortable. All paid for by our tax dollars but absolutely no accountability. Illegals get everything. A citizen dies miserable.
