From my own experience, informing the other person that being ace/are is futile. They don't listen and a month or 2 into the relationship they get mad at you.

I once again have to clarify terms. "Ace" is short for "asexual." "Acespec" is short for "asexual spectrum. "Aspec" encompasses BOTH asexuality and aromanticism.
