Destiny

A new AAA live-service looter shooter in 2026 is insanely expensive and risky. "You know what else is expensive? Not making shit that's what's expensive, you know what I mean? You know what else is expensive? Making something that bombs. That's fucking expensive too. You know what's NOT as expensive? MAKING A GAME THAT WOULD OBVIOUSLY FUCKING SELL LIKE A DESTINY 3." #WeWantDestiny3 #SaveDestiny

I just think it's the opposite of what you're saying, that the newer game releasing new content should in fact be ahead of the older live game that hasn't had content in half a year, particularly when one of those games is being closed down and the other is being indefinitely invested in. I realize there is a recent Destiny upswing, but as mentioned, the PC/console playerbase ratio is totally flipped, so even a tie is going way more in Destiny's favor. The "fixation on numbers" is more important than it's ever been given that Destiny was deemed non-viable and Marathon wasn't. I do know, for a fact, Marathon is not meeting internal expectations. With Destiny shutting down, Marathon's numbers are soon *all* that will matter, concurrents, daily, monthly, revenue, whatever. To say it's disingenuous to compare these two is unwarranted. People were saying that two weeks ago when they were tied on PC. People will say that a week from now when the new update is doing 5x. There's not a "good" time to say it, but it's true.
