@LeoHend47437686 Most individual stamps after the 1930's are so over populated that I personally just use them for actual postage. High value stamps (face values above $1) and certain rarer stamps are worth more. Go to Ebay and search some things. Use actual sold prices and not the asking prices.

@KiltOfLove @SGTWipper1Each New onboard my 1st ship I had to wax a p-way. The POIC, grinning ear to ear, expecting me to be whipped around, put me on the buffer with little instruction. I used only one hand & started buffing. He was dismayed & disappointed, he didn't know I was a janitor prior to joining.

Floor polish. Fun story - I was in Basic when the Gramm-Rudman Act passed and the Army's budget took a huge hit. We literally had no money to buy floor polish. But the Drill Sergeants saw no reason for that to excuse an unpolished floor. So on Saturday, we pooled our money, went to the PX, and purchased 10 or 12 cans of car polish; that evening we had a GI Party & a line of guys on their knees were hand applying Zipwax to the floor. After they finished one side of the bay, another group took to that side; I was one of two guys with the floor buffer & we started buffing out the polish. When we were done the floor was indeed shiny; ours was the only platoon that had a properly-shined floor. Sadly, the car wax didn't behave the same way as floor wax. When our Drills came in two of them slipped & went down on their asses. Still, since we were the only platoon with shiny floors we went to chow first on Sunday morning, and spent the day doing regular Sunday stuff while 3 other platoons spent the day doing Gorilla Drills. I still have a soft spot in my heart for the smell of carnauba wax, even though it got a little cloying after a few days.
