Shoutout to Dr. Bill Richards mentioned on JRE 🙌 Obviously Joe & Ari don’t know Bill. 🤣 That’s a shame. Maybe have Bill on for an epic conversation… Until then, you can check out my conversation with Dr. Richards & Jonathan Hansen. Link to that episode in the comments ⬇️

@amytheartist I admire your commitment to your faith community ( I’ve been in this situation), but you need to be spiritually rooted locally. I will pray for you. This is hard.

@ashley_lande It's hard to say if he's just making mildly teasing small talk or he's a creeper... I totally avoid these types of comments/interactions for fear of being misunderstood. In fact, I almost never even offer women compliments. 🤷‍♂️

Very hard to tell if man attending the cardboard compactor at the recycling center is being inappropriately forward considering I'm happily married / merely complimenting in a gentlemanly, folksy manner / obliquely insulting. "Lookin' pretty bold in that dress!" (It's a dress with a comically oversized collar and my husband thinks it's "a little goofy") "Gonna make some biscuits later?" "Looks like you could make a pretty darn good chicken pot pie in that dress!" I... can...? 🤷‍♀️

@sola_chad I love this guy and I am so happy he is out there sharing the gospel. However, based on my interactions with Orthos & Romans, I believe this is a mischaracterization of their teaching. I am Anglican. I have never heard any these speak of "doing" or "earning" salvation

I so enjoyed the privilege of this conversation! Annie has an extraordinary intellect and I felt a little out of my league, but it was a pleasure and a chance to learn!

What do @annielcrawford and @ashley_lande 's journeys with psychedelics have to teach about embodiment and the Incarnation? Why does Lewis come up so frequently in this conversation? What even is a psychedelic? All here: youtu.be/a31RNZF0nI8

Bitcoin is the best hope the average person has to escape inflation and regain control of their own money. Yet so many people are against Bitcoin. Why?

@StevenBartlett Heaven and Hell are states of consciousness we can access right now. Heaven = states of Bliss, Joy, Gratitude. Hell = states of Guilt, Shame, Fear.

Bible sales in the United States just hit a 21 year high... So why are more people turning back to religion? To help answer that question, today I’m joined by Christian apologist Wesley Huff. Wesley is a historian who studies the historical reliability of the Bible and the evidence surrounding the life of Jesus. Much of his work focuses on ancient manuscripts and the historical case for Christianity. He spends his time debating sceptics and asking a simple question - what does the historical record actually say? I wanted to speak to Wesley because these are questions I’ve personally wrestled with for years. I grew up in a Christian household. When I was about eighteen, I was pulled into the new atheist movement after reading people like Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris. Since then, I’ve found myself in a different place. Curious and still asking a lot of questions.

@davewave020 @StevenBartlett Yes. More people actually reading the Bible will reduce this sort of nonsense, not encourage it. As a Christian I do pray for the president, but not like these sycophantic lap-dogs. Just as many Jews living in the time of Jesus, these people desire a political savior, not a God.

@Steveismagic @StevenBartlett I have been attempting to persuade my fellow Christians for years that instead of fearing AI, what if we recognized that it, by examining all recorded information, would ultimately deduce that the gospel is the only logical explanation…

On Steven's struggle with "religion" being the answer: The word religion comes from the latin religio / religare which means "to bind" or "to reconnect". In modern day, we often associate the term religion with organized religion. As if it were a kind of moralizing country club membership. If we think of religion in the way the ancients did -- as a *reconnecting* to, or a *binding* with something greater, then religion starts to make a lot more sense. Sincerely, a recent convert to Christianity after 30 or so years of agnosticism / atheism.

“I went with Trump’s delegation to Riyadh. I was there with Elon, David Sacks and others. When Trump said he’s finally end neocon policies of war, I wanted to believe him. I cheered louder than anyone in that room. It was my proudest moment as an American. It was all a lie.”
