I had to take 2 years of prerequisites before even applying to my 2 year nuclear medicine program.

People are going to hate me for saying this, and I don’t care, but a nurse does not even get the level of scientific education that a premed student does.
They are great at their job, which is providing care and medications on schedule.
The US has confused people about which is a caring profession and which is a scientific profession and this is very specifically a US issue.
