We need to move away from calling things that end life "health care". It's incredibly confusing to any debate.

@rovingchloe @DrAnnieHickox Some might argue that. I take the side of the idea if you violate the law, you exclude yourself from contributing to law making for the period of time you have been sentenced. Still a citizen, just part of the liberty that is sacrificed.

@ChristianityOn I find I have a very strong bullshit detector.... too strong, as I autistically fixate and dismiss things as bullshit that are actually important. In terms of bullshitting, I'm probably most guilty as I have no idea what will leave my mouth before it does.

I think a big thing that surprised me in learning difficulty training was having nearly zero input on dyspraxia. Very easy to recognise and accommodate, fucks a kid up big time when they struggle under the radar. We need to do better.

@ChristianityOn You say that, but I reckon as a neurodivergent, I'd be able to recognise their pattern of being unable to read a room instantly.

You can tell this person only interacts with autistics of a certain political persuasion because I very frequently see where "neurodivergent pattern recognition" takes people and, well, let's just say it isn't always good.

Combined with modern activists 'This is 100% who I am, and I'm not to blame for my shitty behaviour' Not really a middle ground for being human, wise and working things out together meeting in the middle.

Modern employment be like ' 'Now you know you're autistic, you should be able to identify it and function like a normal person day to day. Let us know if there's any accommodations that don't really relate to anything you need.'

All the while I'm told about being patient with our autistic kids and to ensure my instructions are more specific with them. Make it make sense.

Sometimes the hardest place for an autistic to work is where they specialise in "autism awareness". There's a certain care for "them over there" approach, and forgets staff can have their quirks which really requires patience.

Nobody who follows me here should be in doubt that I will always promote evidence-based practice and would want the RCPsych to do so. I hadn’t expected support from the Critical Psychiatry Network, but fascinating that my UCL colleague should advise them all by email how to vote.
