I was told for months how Bouchard was a defensively liability and wasn’t needed since we had Makar for PP1, and since then Makar has played poorly, doesn’t create chances on the PP and now is giving away breakaways and shorthanded goals. Nice job Armstrong, Makar gets you bronze

@passittobulis @Since1988bro As the forward let go of his man and the D ends up with two players to cover he needs to position himself in the least bad position, which in this case is to be able to reach the stick of the forward directly in front of paint and gamble on also covering the back door pass.

@SatiarShah What’s the point of aiming for participation medals (just making the playoffs)? Playing the Avs makes it painfully obvious only about a handful of the current roster could make it onto a contending team. Too slow and not enough skill. Plain and simple.

@jabo_vancouver In order for a fast pressure (swarm) defense to work you typically need very quick and agile defenders excellent at defending one on one from the corners. And they need time to close gaps really fast. Canucks only have 2 or possibly 3 defenders with those capabilities.
