The May auto theft stats are in! The total number of vehicles stolen in both Pierce and King Counties decreased again. Better yet, the number of vehicles stolen so far in 2025 continues to be the lowest we’ve seen in at least two decades!

@TheKevShow24 Those are just the stats for our small group of detectives on the task force. Numerous vehicles are recovered daily by other officers/agencies.

On Tuesday, we conducted a joint operation with the Kent Police Department to locate and recover stolen vehicles in the Kent area. Detectives and officers recovered three vehicles and made four arrests.

Our detectives need your help to locate a 2019 Ford E350 box van that was stolen on Monday from the Puyallup Tribal Police Department, located in Fife. The van was used to ram a locked gate, so it may have front-end damage. If you spot the van, please call 911.

@Nevets1369 Our detectives work on taking down auto theft rings every day. A large portion of their work involves long-term investigations. At least once per month, we coordinate with a local police agency to conduct emphasis ops where we pool resources to search for stolen vehicles.
