All would be able to do that Even a 5.56 If you had great sights, a 357 Magnum out of a Python, or Smith and Wesson.... Remember, the 45-70 Hornady LeverEvolution 325 Gr shoots flat at 200 yards It all depends on your ability to judge the distance and arc, unless its also a 243, or 270 which shoots flatter than the contour of the flat part of my butt.. . One day in Montello, Wisconsin, I shot a button buck and an 11 pointer with one round of 170 Gr Core-Lokt Remington 30-30 , one shot, both deer through the heart, exploded both, from somewhere between 150 and 120 yards, running.... Winchester model 94, iron sights... the rear sight on the third ramp.... It was a beautiful day and I sat down on a rock that was butt high and saw the bicks take off... I stood up led the deer and fired... they both went 30 yards and died I wish the two men who were with me were alive today, but they both passed away... 18 out of twenty years in the Air Force, I shot expert 200 out of 200, iron sights....

This does NOT even surprise me my friend. It’s why I thought immediately of you for this question. My very first centerfire rifle I ever shot was that same Model 94 30-30 lever action. Brother! We use to climb a tree on the river bank and sit still and kill huge bass 4-5 feet underwater with it!!! Hell, we didn’t know what looking through a scope was like growing up until for Christmas Dad got us a Winchester XTR bull barrel in .243, with a 3x9 Tasco (yes. 4 boys, 1 elegant rifle :) I think at last count? That beautiful babe has taken 53 deer, trained 5 more boys that are men now, and is our most highly prized rifle. STILL can drill a tack at 150. In fact at 100 that’s still our competition/contest…who can hit the roofing tack on the target first 🤣🤣🤣 At 150 it’s a Roma tomato that is way easier to see who instantly wins 🤣🤣🤣

What's a good deer caliber for a woman? Wanna buy the wife a deer rifle but i don't think she'd enjoy shooting a .308 or 30-06 repeatedly. Also this is for mostly East Texas. So don't necessarily need to reach way out there but do want the capability to reach a little out there if she goes somewhere else.
