Sometimes I wonder how much better off patients would be if the 29 billion dollars that went to digital health startups in 2021 went to primary care physicians instead. Like...we know how to improve health. Recruit more PCPs and pay them well. No app required.

@morgancheatham @cxldworld Depends on the trial, condition, and endpoints. Most trials won’t include someone with a life expectancy less than the duration of the trial + follow-up, especially if it’s looking at outcomes that include mortality.

@cxldworld what if the trial could proceed in the home and the patient wanted to participate?

if a patient is on or moving to hospice, can they participate in a clinical trial? arguably the treatment would not be deemed curative while under an investigative study?
