Rashadul Islam,29, a Bangladeshi National in Australia on a bridging visa, has been refused bail for allegedly raping a 15 year old child. The man, who lived with up to eight flatmates in a cramped western Sydney share house, kept the 15 year old girl captive for 4 weeks and allegedly raped her at least four times. The 15 year old girl only regained her freedom after police found her running in bare feet down a street in Blacktown, Western Sydney with Rashadul Islam in hot pursuit. The girl told police Islam had allegedly sexually assaulted her and kept her against her will for 4 weeks. Diversity is our strength.

A recently arrived Lebanese immigrant, Bilal Jdid, 28, has pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated sexual assault inflicting actual body harm and one count of sexually touching another person without consent after raping an 18 year old teenager in the sand dunes at Port Macquarie. The 18 year old woman, who was on her way to watch a live screening of the Matildas, was dragged to the ground and sexually assaulted by the man after rejecting his advances by telling him she “had a boyfriend” Jdid, came up behind the victim on his bike about 7.50pm while she was walking on the footpath from the Surf Club. He asked if she was Australian before asking if he could take a picture with her. The victim told police she was “uncomfortable” but obliged as she thought he was a tourist wanting to take a photo with an Australian girl. At that moment, Jdid grabbed her right shoulder with his left hand and grabbed her neck with his right hand – repeating “just five minutes” The victim shouted “no, stop” before Jdid pushed her off the footpath and into the sand dunes. He grabbed the back of the victim’s neck and forced her head into the sand before raping her, telling her “stop, just five minute sex” After about five minutes, Jdid let go of the victim and fled. She was left with a bloodied nose and injuries to her neck, wrists, face and legs. Jdid told police that he attended the beach and met a female that he “wished to commence a relationship with” Jdid had arrived in Australia from Lebanon in 2022. Jdid was granted bail, however, breached his bail conditions a month later. He was then unbelievably granted bail again but with stricter conditions. He was finally taken into custody on December 10 last year after entering guilty pleas to the charges. He has yet to be sentenced. Diversity is our strength.

Rajwinder Singh, a married 41 year old Indian National, was found guilty of the murder of Toyah Cordingley at Wangetti Beach, north of Cairns, Australia.
