KY Education & Workforce Development Commissioner Lana Gordon visited the West KY Workforce Board Meeting this morning to hear updates on regional workforce activities, including the work being done to assist dislocated workers from Briggs & Stratton in Murray & Calloway County.

Last night, River Valley AgCredit, hosted an event at the PADD focusing on USDA grant & loan opportunities for REAP. REAP can assist farmers with energy projects, by providing grants & guaranteed loans for renewable energy systems & energy efficiency improvement projects.

The Murray Career Discovery Center, to serve dislocated workers from Briggs & Stratton, is open this week at MSU's Heritage Hall from 9-4 on Monday & Wednesday. Stop by!

A&R Chair @kyrudy was recently recognized for his efforts in the 2018 budget to return dollars from @TVAnews back to far West Kentucky for economic development initiatives. The budget allocated $6 million in TVA payments to 39 KY counties to promote job growth in rural Kentucky.
