What did people with misophonia do before the invention of noise cancelling headphones?

It’s important when parenting autistic & ADHD children to teach healthy ways to regulate emotions. Many neurodivergent adults who weren’t taught this use unhealthy methods like substance abuse, and self harm. Unlearning bad coping strategies is hard #autistic #adhd

@helen_barnowl Yes absolutely agree, unfortunately my life is currently not that.

@Purpleella Really prefer to have all the accommodations so I don’t get to that stage.

Autistic meltdowns are a brain that is overloaded (by sensory, or emotions, or whatever really) and cannot cope anymore. They can look like anger, tears, pacing, self harm, ranting and other expressions of distress. We are not in control when they happen.

If I see a Job advertisement and it says that the ‘Desired applicant attributes’ are: •They must be Organized •They must be Good at Time management •They must have great Communicational skills •They must be Adaptable and Flexible I don’t even bother applying🤣

ADHD = having a whole day and around 3 hours work to fit in, wasting time messing around on the internet and rushing to get the work done at the end of the day. Because you needed the pressure 😂 #ADHD
