1. Don’t ever make plans for money that has not entered your account. Until you receive a credit alert, it is not real.
2. When you have money, buy things in bulk. Cook in bulk and grocery shop in bulk. Buy everything you need in doubles. It will cost more now, but it will save you money later.
3. Make it a habit to buy at least one piece of clothing every month, even if it is just a shirt, cap, or pair of pants.
4. Learn to tell people no without feeling guilty or having to explain yourself, especially those you don’t go to when you are in need.
5. Womanizing is the easiest route to going back to zero. It has little to no ROI. Do not invest in it.
6. Whenever you want to make an impulse purchase, wait another 24 hours. If you still need it after that time frame, go ahead with it.
7. Always fill your gas, and keep cooked soup and stew in your fridge. This will save you on rainy days.
8. Other people’s emergencies are not yours. You might be dipping into your savings for someone who has locked theirs away for other purposes.
9. Decline invites that will hurt your budget. Sometimes, it is better to send a small token than to go out of your way to attend an event.
10. Don’t ever use shame to chest billing. If you attend to every touching story, soon enough it will be your own story that is touching. Be frugal; it is hard to find help out there.
