@ANIDEEZY Mark has a lot more of the picture to be fair, it’s one thing to hear Nolan say “The Viltrumites are an Evil World Destroying culture) and it’s another to watch them destroy an entire planet, and rip out your fathers guts for the crime of deciding you don’t want to do genocide

watching the new invincible ep & i don't know how Mark/Debbie can even hold a conversation with Omni-man, especially Mark after he was used as a human weapon to kill 100s of people on that train

I mean, didn’t she say she wanted to retire? She might show up in later scenes, but the man she loved died, she almost died, it’s very clear the power scaling situation is such that she is legitimately FUCKED if she continues with the guardians. In what capacity would you expect her to show up besides as maybe someone Eve or Duplikate talk to about something later? What remaining relevance does she have to the plot, even removed from her relationship with Rex? And yeah you could say “well why does her character have to revolve around her relationship with a man?” And the answer is because she is a (arguably very good) tacked on addition to the story replacing a character whose only purpose was to fill out a roster and get Vored.

The man she was attached to evaporate so did her role in the story.

Never mind, it just occurred to me that Tech Jacket being turned into a woman means she will be a love interest for Oliver and neither of them will be fucking a bug, and this change will destroy the show

My first thought when I saw they made Tech Jacket a woman was “I mean I guess that makes sense” because Tech Jacket in the comics looks way to similar to Mark. I’d rather, if they are going to change characters to female, to do what they did with Rae, taking a entirely (or mostly) inconsequential character and expanding there story is way better then saying “fuck you, Robot is a girl now” or some shit. Tech Jacket is far more consequential then Rae yeah, but at the end of the day, what is the most consequential thing he does in the comics beyond sheltering Alan?
