[WATCH] As Amilcar Cabral famously declared: “Hide nothing from the masses of our people. Tell no lies. Expose lies whenever they are told. Mask no difficulties, mistakes, failures. Claim no easy victories...” Indeed it will add nothing to the cause of liberating our people from racial, gender and class inequality, if we mask the difficulties we encounter. Equally, we must not let those opposed to national transformation to be the one who tell our story. We are the first to acknowledge that there are indeed difficulties, hence national conference resolved on the agenda of organisational renewal, to which we are committed to. Similarly, we convened the largest gathering ever of ANC councillors, in what we called the Roll Call, to give them marching orders on the same issues that I have raised with regards to service delivery. #RememberSolomonMahlangu #ANCatWORK

The lecture was delivered under the theme: “Solomon Mahlangu: A Beacon for the Realisation of a Better Life for All, Reclaiming Lost Ground and Rebuilding Public Trust within the Context of African National Congress Renewal.” This is a moment to reflect not only on his enduring legacy of courage and sacrifice, but also on our collective responsibility to translate that legacy into meaningful action that restores confidence, advances transformation, and strengthens the bond between the movement and the people it serves. #RemeberingSolomonMahlangu

We are gathered here on this solemn occasion to commemorate the life of Solomon Mahlangu and as we are reminded by the house of Mahlangu, we are gathered to revive the spirit of Solomon Mahlangu. We are gathered here to declare that the struggle continues and that indeed the struggle was not free, it had a high cost.
