I'm Tradumenical, but the irony is extraordinary; the FSSP remains in a literal dead end without the Bishops they were promised in the 80s. IYKYK.

@carbo_al This is a take from the lens of X, rather than being on the ground at a TLM parish.
The vast majority of attendees are just your average mother, fathers, etc. who want to grow closer to Our Lord and love a reverent liturgy for their family.

The TLM has a self selection bias for devout liturgy nerds, which makes it as reverent as possible today

I had a good conversation on this with a priest recently. He pointed out a common complaint is that TLM is reverent and NO isn’t. But it’s precisely because TLM masses are run by people who actually care for it to be. If all masses were TLM we would run into the same issues as NO
