Here're my day 1 Crimson Desert thoughts: - If you're playing this game for the story, just don't (feels like background, and gameplay carries a game any day) - Combat can be really fun, despite some jank that might trip you up - Combat is VERY open as to how you wanna play, and this is ... FUN - World looks fucking insane (waterfall dev had a fucking stroke though lol) - Tons to do, shit to grind, upgrades to have, shit to buy/sell - Puzzles are really dope so far - Boss fights have a nice challenge with cool mechanics so far - Starts off kinda rough/slow, with little things that can annoy you or make you feel anxious - Many input discrepancies that make basic things tedious, annoying, or anti-QOL (such as weapon unsheathing, interacting, lantern stuff, sprinting/jumping, and other various inputs that are more annoying than they need to be) Once you get through the initial phase, you get into a groove where the game gives off MMO solo chill vibes and adventure RPG vibes. You could spend all day doing absolutely nothing, or you could spend all day in combat. Imo, the game def isn't a fail like some make it out to be. Just not true. But it's also not quite living up to its 10/10 expectations. It's somewhere in the middle, but it's very playable and a solid time after one day. Of course, any opinions can and will change. Cheers.

@Luuminah i played the beta and experienced same thing with a 14600k and 5070. bungie mentioned in a post about low gpu usage and high cpu so they working on it

My actual only complaint with marathon rn is performance/optimisation i have a 5070 ti, 32 gigs of ram, i5 12600k and i cannot get above ~ 75 fps with any of the settings which is weird and in a game like this i kinda wanna have my frames.

Veytharion and Caltheris both had white eyes. At least, it looks like it; it's hard to tell with Caltheris with the color grading. And it also seems like Ava Jansen has white eyes. I wonder if that means we will have a boss fight centered around freeing her?

@Laggin24x ive played it so many times and it doesnt really matter how i play it. currently playing through it again on the switch 2 since it got patched but i am tempted to do a modded playthrough on pc. just hate modding as u spend so much time doing it and then lose interest when ready

I find it really hard to play games from 10+ years ago that haven't received a graphical and/or an FPS update. Nothing holds up anymore to me. Its actually a sad realization. I tried playing RE5 the other day, a game I must have played 15 times, couldn't get through 5 mins of it

Just checked out Cyberpunk on my Steam Deck OLED and it actually has me questioning if I need my 4090 PC. I mean, look at this static shot which conveniently has no FPS counter or resolution info..... it has parity with my PC when both are set to ultra! Genuinely shook to my core
