This is a good read from a PUP alumnus. In essence, he/she’s saying that many of these student activists stopped going to school and have prioritized activist work, to the detriment of their education, their future. I think I can relate. I sent this niece of mine to college at the PUP. She was editor-in-chief of school papers from elementary to high school to college. At PUP Sta Maria Bulacan, she almost did not graduate because “napag-initan” ng mga school officials. Aba eh minsan ba naman, nakita ko na lang sa news, nasa harap ng PUP main campus sa Sta Mesa at nag-e-speech sa gitna ng rally ng mga fellow PUPians. Luckily for my niece, she prioritized her studies. She’s now, one of the best English teachers in the biggest private school in SMB. There should be life after student activism.
