QR code best practice nobody talks about: Test before you print. Check: ☐ Scans on cracked phone screens ☐ Works in direct sunlight ☐ Readable from 3 feet away ☐ iOS + Android both work ☐ Destination URL loads fast Print 10,000 QR codes that don't scan = expensive mistake. Test once. Print confidently.

Metrics that matter vs vanity metrics: Vanity: → Total users (601) → Page views (12K/month) → Social followers (450) Real: → Trial-to-paid conversion (6.4%) → MRR growth (+$50 this month) → Customer retention (92%) Focus on money metrics. Everything else is noise.

Productivity hack for solo founders: Theme days. Monday: Marketing (Reddit, Twitter, emails) Tuesday: Product (features, bugs) Wednesday: Content (blogs, docs) Thursday: Customer support Friday: Strategy (metrics, planning) Context switching kills productivity. One focus per day > little bit of everything.

RSVP QR codes = event organizer secret weapon One QR code tracks: → Who's attending → Who confirmed → Who actually showed up Use case: Conference with 500 RSVPs Real attendance: 342 (68%) Now they know: Send 1.5x invites to hit target attendance Data > guessing. qrforever.com/qr-code-types/…

Customer feedback that stung: "Your product is great but nobody knows it exists" Harsh. True. We have: → Better pricing than competitors → Faster redirects → Cleaner UI But terrible at: → Marketing → Distribution → Visibility Product quality ≠ success. Distribution > product.

Sunday thought: Building in public feels vulnerable. Sharing revenue ($192/month) when others are at $50K feels small. But someone at $0 sees $192 and thinks "that's possible." Your "small" wins inspire someone else's start. Keep sharing. Keep building. We're all on different timelines.

7 months in. Reflecting. What worked: ✅ Reddit (highest ROI) ✅ ChatGPT SEO (passive signups) ✅ Simple pricing ($24/year) ✅ Email reactivations What didn't: ❌ Facebook ads ❌ Cold email (automated) ❌ LinkedIn ads ❌ Building unused features Focus on what works. Kill what doesn't. Obvious but hard to execute.

Real question: At what MRR did you quit your job? Me: Still employed at $144 MRR Goal: Quit at $4K MRR (can cover expenses + save) But seeing people quit at: → $1K (too risky?) → $5K (too safe?) → $10K (too late?) When is the right time? Drop your number if you've done it.

Email marketing mistake I made: Sent same email to: → Active trials → Expired trials → Paying customers Each needs different message. Now segmented: → Active trials: conversion nudge → Expired: reactivation → Paying: retention + upsell Open rates up 2x. One size fits nobody.

Founder lesson: Imposter syndrome doesn't go away at revenue milestones. At $0 MRR: "I'm a fake founder" At $100 MRR: "This is too small to matter" At $1K MRR: "Others do $10K, I'm behind" The bar just moves. Solution: Compare to yourself yesterday, not others today. Progress > perfection.

Feature I'm NOT building: QR code analytics AI insights. "Your scans increased 23% this week because..." Why not? → Customers didn't ask for it → Adds complexity → Maintenance nightmare → Marginal value Saying no > saying yes to everything. Ship what matters. Ignore what's "cool."

Customer request that surprised me: "Can you add a password to protect my QR code?" Use case: VIP event access, private documents I thought: Who needs this? Turns out: Event planners, a lot. Built it. 4 conversions in first week. Listen to your outlier customers. They see use cases you don't.
