June/July: Queen Square Simulation Centre Cadaver Courses! The Queen Square Simulation Centre is proud to announce its 3rd annual Advanced Cranial and Advanced Spinal cadaver courses in June/July 2026, to be held at The Griffin Institute, Northwick Park. The courses will have two delegates per cadaver and a high faculty to delegate ratio, giving ample opportunity to learn advanced hands-on skills from eminent faculty from London and beyond. The cranial course is currently open to senior neurosurgical trainees and fellows. The spinal course is currently open to senior neurosurgical and orthopaedic trainees/post-CCT fellows (deanery and non-deanery) and junior spinal consultants. 13th & 14th November - Functional Neurosurgery Course! Registration: forms.gle/Pt2nGn6sLv3pv2… This 2-day course on Functional Neurosurgery covers both Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and stereotactic lesioning. All aspects of anatomy, patient selection, targeting, surgery, programming, follow up and troubleshooting will be presented by experts and pioneers in the field. Afternoon workshops include 3-D anatomy simulation of basal ganglia, hands-on courses on surgery simulation, target and trajectory planning, and basic programming. Depending on their main field of interest, participants can choose between more advanced planning, DBS programming, or patient selection. We will also cover the basics on radiofrequency (RF) ablation and High Focused Ultrasound, including simulation of RF surgery. The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery at Queen Square is an international leader in the field and has pioneered image-verified DBS surgery under general anesthesia. This is an excellent opportunity for neurosurgery and neurology trainees as well as younger consultants, specialist DBS nurses and allied health-care professionals interested in expanding their knowledge or keeping up-to-date in this field.
