Fleeing Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is heading to Singapore in a Saudi Airlines flight from Maldives. Speaker of the Maldivian Parliament and former president @MohamedNasheed, went to see him off at the airport.

Highly placed sources say @GotabayaR plans to travel from Singapore to a Middle Eastern country until he reaches a "safe destination where he will receive Head of State immunity," before he sends in letter of resignation.

Staff at the state-run Sri Lanka #Rupavahini Corporation say the take over was “peaceful”. Over 300 protesters converged outside the station, but a few protestors requested, and were allowed to and go in and broadcast a statement.
