This is a sad day for Arkansas basketball as Kevin Miller passed away this afternoon. The start of the state tournament is where Kevin would most likely have been found. He chose this year to be with his family first, to go on a trip to Miami because he knows what's most important. Yet, he still called and texted so many coaches about the state tournament, their kids, and media members about if they needed help.
Kevin started all video exposure in Arkansas. I can’t think of a single person who did it before him. He adapted year after year. We were so fortunate at Off 2 to have him with us at any event we wanted. The exposure he brought to kids was incredible. A tireless worker, someone you could always go to when down that would make you laugh, someone who would do anything for any kid! Countless calls he'd reach out to us about 'you need to get this kid,' and we trusted him enough to start reaching out.
My heart hurts. My mind hurts, and Arkansas basketball lost such a huge advocate for their kids. I don’t know a single person who didn’t get along with Kevin. He is family to us in every way. He is family to me. We would have some of the most entertaining conversations to even business conversations about what people can do better in this state. He'd take calls from people in the middle of the night to reach out and ask us who the top unsigned kids were in the state that he may not have even known to find them a landing spot at the next level.
His heart is made of gold. His passion for kids is unmatched. Count your blessings if you got to meet Kevin because I know all he did was smile and talk life and basketball with you.
I could go on and on about how much of a positive influence you are, but the good thing is, everyone you came in contact with knows that!
We love you, Kevin. You will truly be missed by myself, the coaches you've connected with, the kids you've impacted and would've impacted, the media members you helped, and most importantly, your entire family.
See you soon, my guy and enjoy retirement. I know you’re watching hoops and fishing all at the same time.
Kevin Miller with BM Sports Report, out. ❤️ @big73miller
If Kevin taught me one thing, life and basketball is too short to make enemies. If we all had his mindset, this state would be a better place.
