Wildlife officers will be notifying people in camping areas near Inskip Point and install recent crocodile sight warning signs. 🗣 The animal is likely to be the same crocodile recently videoed on Coonarr Beach, near Bundaberg.

Crocodile Sighting at Inskip Point⚠️Wildlife officers are investigating after an estimated two-metre crocodile was seen on the beach near the Sarawak camping area at Inskip Point (near Rainbow Beach).

People in the area are strongly urged to remain vigilant around the water: 👉 Stay away from the water’s edge 👉 Supervise children and pets closely: 👉 Use an esky or a similar object as a barrier between you and the water

QPWS will be conducting planned burns within the Cooloola Recreation Area from Tues 16 April. Smoke may be seen at Teewah Village, Teewah Beach Camping Area, Upper Noosa River and Como areas.

QPWS & Butchulla Aboriginal Corporation rangers will be conducting planned burns within the K’gari section of the Great Sandy NP near Figtree Creek between 14 April & 31 May 2024, weather permitting. Smoke may be seen at Figtree Creek, Garrys Anchorage, Dilli Village & Boonooroo.

QPWS will conduct planned burn operations within the Mount Mee section of D’Aguilar National Park over the coming days. As a result, smoke may be seen in Mt Mee, Ocean View, Mount Pleasant, Lacey’s Creek, Dayboro, Somerset, Neurum and Woodford areas.
