PPB just shot someone in Lents Park, media release confirms. They label it as an "Officer-involved shooting"

Our police here can't arrest a person who attempted vehicular homicide that's right in front of them? But they sure can take the budget intended for body cams and spend it on fancy cars instead. 😒

You'd ask: Then what do they do? Protect the interests of those with privilege and power - that's what.

The thing that gets me the most about this is that it's side-by-side with poor numbers of closed cases, increasing crime, and police literally just standing there watching violent crimes happen & not doing a damn thing. They don't even enforce the law. I've see no proof they do.

Anyone notice how police vehicles get fancier and fancier at least every five years? Hidden light panels, even hidden lights that read police, now legit sports car build? Wish I hadn't been driving today so I could have snapped a photo of the sheriff vehicle I saw today.

I'm wondering if anyone's keeping an eye on the microfauna around the rivers in northern Oregon. Wish I was there to turn over some rocks & see if there's any Stone Flies around. I found one around the Deschutes today & was relieved because they're very sensitive to pollution.
