I’m Ms. Black Studies/Black Power/HBCU, and I’m not even upset about this. I would’ve let my son be expressed and submit his paper as is.
As his mother, it’s your role to teach him the history that he won’t receive at school. Maybe he passed on MLK because everyone does him.

Plus, most of us were already here before slavery.
